Here we provide a directory of biodiversity institutions worldwide. These organizations are engaged in research, teaching and funding activities related to biodiversity conservation, science, advocacy and legislation.

How to access the list of biodiversity institutions

Click on the link to access the list of biodiversity institutions. The data is presented in a spreadsheet. You can downloaded it as an Excel, PDF or CSV file. Please note that you cannot edit the online file directly. If you wish to add your institution, please use the form in the section (How to add your biodiversity institution) below.

Suggested uses of the list of biodiversity institutions

This list is provided as a service to members of the Biodiversity Professionals LinkedIn group. You may use the list as needed. We do ask that you provide credit and a link back to this page or our website. You can use the list to:

  • Look for job opportunities–most of the listed institutions include careers or jobs pages, which may include training, internships or academic courses.
  • Explore possible funding sources–some of the institutions provide funds for research related to biodiversity, conservation and natural resources.
  • Find experts in specific areas and geographical locations–institutions in specific geographical areas may have unique expertise in a region of interest.
